- Rashmika Mandanna discussed the development of Srivalli, her Pushpa franchise character created by Sukumar, in a recent interview.
The sequel to the 2021 blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise starring Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar, will see actor Rashmika Mandanna return to her role as Pushpa Raj’s wife, Srivalli. ‘You will see Srivalli 2.0’
Because of the “spontaneity,” Rashmika told the publication, she found playing Srivalli to be “challenging and fun.” “Because I wasn’t familiar with the tale, Srivalli as a character, how to play her, or the universe we were building, I wasn’t particularly familiar with my character in Pushpa. Rashmika claims to have learned more about the character and the setting of Pushpa 2: The Rule, though. Rashmika plays Srivalli, a country belle that Pushpa Raj courted and ultimately married in Pushpa. She immediately rejects Pushpa in the first section before eventually falling in love with him. In addition, the title character saves her from Dhananjay’s Jolly Reddy, starting a series of incidents that turn him into an enemy.
Pushpa’s creators unveiled Rashmika’s debut appearance as Srivalli in Pushpa 2: The Rule. The actor caught notice with his sindoor while wearing a silk saree and gold accessories. The filmmakers also released a teaser on Allu’s birthday, which featured the actor as a jatara avatar but did not divulge much.
